Increasing solidarity actions

Carmila's shopping centres are useful environments for local residents and play a key role in social life. In 2023, they will be organising at least one highlight on one of the three themes identified as essential for the regions: employment, health and solidarity.

Job datings, awareness-raising events such as Pink October and second-hand markets: more than 2,500 CSR events were organised, reaching over 1.3 million people and raising €630,000 for charities. Local events were also organised with the 10 winners of the 3rd edition of the call for projects to boost the food and solidarity transition launched with the Carrefour Foundation, such as the event to raise awareness of food waste organised at the Brest Iroise shopping centre with the le Jardin Vert association.

Contributing to regional development

In France, 60% of young people live outside major urban centres. A situation that perpetuates inequality of opportunity due to a lack of information or opportunities. In line with its policy of diversity and inclusion, Carmila has made a commitment to the Rura association. The idea is simple: to help reveal the talents of secondary school pupils and students by guiding them in their career paths and by showing them all the possibilities offered by Carmila shopping centres, which are often located in medium-sized towns.
